Workshop on Safety Induction Training for Oil and Gas Workers

Program overview:

The purpose of safety induction training for Oil and Gas workers is to ensure that all personnel working in the oil and industry can demonstrate competence in addressing safety requirements of an oil and gas installation, controlling hazards on the installation, responding appropriately to an emergency, using personal safety equipment, carrying out their individual responsibilities and also cover the expectations of safe workplace behaviour on health, safety and environment.

For whom:

This safety Induction training course is designed for new entrants to the oil and gas industry, it will equally be of benefit to older workers and employees who are new to a particular installation.

Learning objectives:

At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

• explain the risks to which they are exposed and how they are managed;
• explain the essential safety rules with which they must comply and how to act in an emergency;
• develop increased personal commitment to work safely;
• effectively use the personal protective equipment;
• adopt common industry risk management tools and strategies including safety conversations, intervening and stopping the job;
• avoid behaviour and conduct that may compromise their safety and the safety of others; and
• list and explain the expectations the Industry places upon workers, with regard to safety conduct and behavior.
