Just In Time: Combating Waste in Manufacturing and Service Industries

Program Overview:

Just in Time (JIT) is a total commitment to excellence in manufacturing and service industries. That excellence is achieved primarily through the elimination of waste. JIT is viewed as an umbrella concept that calls for the elimination of waste in all areas of product manufacturing and delivery – including marketing, planning, sales, scheduling and production, engineering, design, supply chain, project, operations, etc. The goal of JIT is zero inventories – that is zero excess inventories. So, to achieve this, it must be a companywide focus.

 Day 2: Supplier Development Program

• Information management

• Inventory management, lead time management

• Integration of ERP, MRP I, CRP, MRP II with JIT

Day 3: Setting clear Goals and Objectives about JIT

• Contribution of other Functions/Processes towards JIT

• Performance Standards and Measurements
